A Christmas Spider?

No! It’s not The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Legend has it the spider is in fact a Christmas symbol. The tradition was established from folk tales from Europe.

It is linked to a German story about a mother who was too poor to decorate her Christmas tree, so helpful spiders spun beautiful, elaborate webs on the branches while she and her children slept. When she woke with her family on Christmas morning after opening the curtains to see the sunlight hit the webs turning them silver and gold. The family had good luck and fortune as a result of the spider webs.

This tale is believed to be the origin of the Christmas tree decoration (Tinsel). Whether you believe in the Christmas spider or not don’t ever stop believing in the magic of Christmas.
