Fall Girls Pathfinders
The Girls Pathfinders group studied hard in all of their classes because they recently got to go on a field trip up to Allagash Maine. The girls got to skip a whole week of school to go this field trip because it was a 9 hour car ride 525 miles there.
The Girl Pathfinders left on Monday morning with their camp leaders and didn’t come back until Friday afternoon at 4:30. Their total trip was 5 days and 4 nights. On their car ride up next to them the road was a horse drawn carriage!
While they were up in Allagash they went on a hike up a mountain that took 9 hours long! While the girls were conquering this mountain hike it was freezing outside and a snowstorm started to come through so a person ended up falling off just a little bit of the mountain so the they didn’t end up getting back at the campsite untill nearly 9PM.
The foods that they ate on their trip are quesadillas, breakfast sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, sloppy Joes, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and sausage, and campers platter (which is a pathfinders personal meal). The girls even had to set up their own tent when they got to Allagash. It was very cold nights but thankfully the tents were pretty nicely heated. The actual camp Site that they stayed on was a beautiful pond. It might have been nice but it sure was cold for them.
I interviewed one of the girls that went on the trip and she said that “It was one of the best experience that I have been on in a few years." She also suggests that if you ever thought about joining Pathfinders she thinks that you should.
This trip seemed like a great experience and a lot of fun but also very cold.
