Staff vs. 8th Grade Soccer Teams
Earlier on Tuesday of this week, our school hosted a soccer game where the Staff took on the 8th grade soccer teams. The boys team took on the Staff in the first half and the girls took on the staff in the second. The game had some of your favorite teachers in it; like Mr. Robertson, Mr. Drinkwater, and Mrs. Reisbeck. Many other teachers participated as well as our principals.
The boys team fought hard in the first half with they scored 2 goals but it wasn’t enough and at half time the students were down 3-2. In the second half the girls 8th grade team took the field and tried to dig themselves out of the ditch the boys had put them in. Within the first ten minutes the girls had tied it up 3-3. Later on in the game the teachers came back and scored 2 goals, making the final score 5-3 teachers.
Although most people wanted the students to win, the teachers were able to show that you can always improve. The teachers surprised the kids with their foot skills, smart playmaking abilities, and speed. It was a good game and luckily no one got hurt, and everyone had fun. The students will let the teachers enjoy their win for now; but next year expect to see a physical, quick game with lots of action as the 7th grade teams this year beat the teachers.
