K-Pop: History of BTS
BTS is a popular K-Pop (Korean pop music) group in Korea, and now becoming very beloved in the U.S. as well.
BTS formed their group of 7 members in 2013. The first song performed by them was their original song “No More Dream”, which they performed on June 13th, 2013, to commemorate their debut.
The name BTS is an abbreviation for “Bangtan Sonyeondan”, which translated into English is “Bangtan Boys”. They are also known as “The Bulletproof Boy Scouts”.
The 7 members of BTS each have nicknames for when they perform. Their original names (and stage names) are Kim Namjoon (a.k.a. RM), Kim Seokjin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), and Jeon Jeongguk (Jungkook).
They have won several New Artist of the Year Awards, including the 2013 Melon Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards, and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards. The band continued to win awards all the way up until now.
BTS members have gone through several changes in their appearance, making them even more loveable idols. These appearance changes gradually made their fanbase explode through the years. They eventually started to call their fanbase A.R.M.Y.s, which stands for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth”.
BTS eventually started touring in America, collaborating with popular singers from the U.S., such as The Chainsmokers, and Nicki Minaj. The BTS members have said that they wish to collaborate with Shawn Mendes as well.
They have also expressed some feelings towards each other that show LGBTQ interests, also raising the number of fans they have gained in the past years.
Overall, BTS has captured many hearts of people all around the globe, including me and my group of friends. I guess that’s why I chose to write an article on this subject, because it’s so loved between me and my friends.
