The Harlem Wizards

The Harlem Wizards have come to the district with an amazing show! The team is from Harlem, New York and tours around the country performing for schools and communities. The Wizards played at the high school against some of the teachers at the middle school. Some of the teachers who played are: Mr. Drinkwater, Mr. Trull, Ms. Andreasen, Ms. Ross, Mr. Miremadi, Ms. Duhamel, Mr. Vacchiano, Mr. Harris and Mr. Oyster.

The Wizards, unlike most teams, are not primarily focused on winning the game every time. The Harlem Wizards are more into trick hoops and alley oops!

Two of the world famous Wizards came and visited during my lunch period, and I was lucky enough to grab a quote from a player who calls himself “Skywalker,” and he thought about a good, decent quote for this article and he said, “No matter what you do in life, always give 110%!”

The Wizards game was very humorous and had some amazing shots! A group of kids came out frequently to the court for activities and they called themselves the “Wiz Kids”! The Harlem Wizards beat the teachers and many people celebrated at the end, with a conga line!

Julianna Dyer says, “The game was very impressive!”
