The Garden Club
Gardening
Do you love to garden? If you do this club would be perfect for you. Well we went down to the greenhouse to interview the people working in what we call the wonderful greenhouse. This awesome club is run by Mr. Avery and Mr. Christensen.
We asked some questions to the hardworking interviewees.
“What are you hoping to plant?” Lacie responded, “I would like to plant Kale because it is so good!” Both of us would totally agree! Another question we asked was, “What are you hoping to make?” Summer said, “Banana Smoothies!” They are DELICIOUS! Another great question that we asked was, “How is the club?” Mariah answered, “It is super fun and I am excited also I love eating veggies!” We love to eat veggies!’
“Why did you join this fantastic club?” we asked. Mariah and Summer both said,.“We joined because we want to have something to do that is fun that we can do together.” Our last question for the students in garden club was do they have gardens at home and ⅔ said yes they do have gardens at home. Our last question for garden club was for the teacher Mr. Christensen. The question we asked him was,“Do you donate your plants? His response was, “Yes, we would like to, but there isn’t enough crops right now, but we do hand what we make at the bus waiting area.”
One extra thing Mr. Christensen added was, “You may come anytime, just email me at jchristensen@bonnyeagle.org if possible. It it really fun you should definitely check it out sometime!!"
Cooking
Did you know that gardening club cooks what they make? We visited them and on that day they were making homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and apple crisp. Here is the easy and tasty recipe you can make for any occasion.
First preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Then cut tortillas into 4ths or 6ths depending on the size you want.
Put them on a cooking pan and brush them with a little bit of olive oil and add a pinch of salt and pop ’em in the oven.
Cook them for about eight minutes.
A few things you need to know before you join. We meet every Tuesday after school in room 44 or the health room kitchen, though in winter we meet every other week. Listen to the intercoms. Otherwise, just show up!!!! Or email Mr. Avery at savery@bonnyeagle.org, one more rule is YOU MUST SHOW UP!!! All in all this is a really fun club. We hope to see you there soon.
