Before moving to Portland, Ms. Nadeau lived in Madawaska for 23 years. Before she started teaching, she was a nanny and a waitress in Scarborough. She needed more experience as a teacher, so she went into teaching Special Ed for a start. Her room is located at the very corner of the Carnegie clan in room 92.

1. What made you teach Special Ed?

“I needed more experience in teaching. I enjoyed building close relationships with the students.”

2. How has Special Ed been treating you since?

“I’m still learning about the students’ needs, strengths and weaknesses. I’m also still teaching the students the expectations in my class. At this point, I’m still learning about the program myself.”

3. Have you thought about continuing Special Ed?

“I will see how this year turns out. I do not have a degree in Special Ed, but I do see myself enjoying this position. At this point, I do believe that I will enjoy this position more than expected. I am also excited to learn more about the school system and the people outside my classroom.”
